Introducing Artist Holly Terry's new series 'Prana'

Holly Terry is a Melbourne based visual Artist and Yoga Teacher. Drawing inspiration from the subtle and non-subtle yogic practices, Holly’s abstract works explore the depths and layers of physical movement, form, and non physical practices such as pranayama and Prana. Holly’s work is feminine in form and palette, though met with a subtle strength through the use of texture to create depth.

Creative since childhood, Holly moved in and out of artistic expressions throughout her teenage years and early adulthood, exploring installation, sculpture, digital and illustration before solidifying a more formal, regular painting practice.

Holly lives and works in Melbourne, AU.

Holly acknowledges the original custodians of the land in which she lives and works, the Wurundjeri people.

Introducing 'Prana'. This series of work is an inquiry into our life force, 'Prana'. An ode to the vital energy that flows through us whether in, movement or stillness, each work is an expression of the ever-present nature of prana through exploration of asana (posture), meditation or more subtle aspects such the acknowledgement of our true self. Embodying characteristically heavy layering and deep texture, 'Prana' gently contrasts with a soft palette and organic shape, a reference to the 'sthira Sukha' (strength and ease) nature of our vital pranic energy.
